Behind The Scenes: Menswear Dog
Inspiring story of how the Menswear Dog blog started. I also can’t believe the owners of Bodhi are two talented Asian Americans too.
Off My Chest
DISCLAIMER: My mother is VIETNAMESE. This means the majority of my life consisted of lectures about: doing well in school, having a good job, marrying and having children, being a good woman.
1. I confessed to my mom about my grades in school and how I hated my major, Economics. She then told me she switched her major 3 times until she landed on accounting. My dad switched 2 times and graduated with engineering. He now does commercial real estate (nothing related to his degree) and does seminars at the Google and Yahoo headquarters. My uncle switched from engineering and dentistry before he became a family doctor.
2. I then told her that I might have to take stay another quarter before I could graduate. She told me it was fine and that I should take my time. After all, I’m balancing work, volunteering, and school. Then I recently got VP of Marketing for Alpha Kappa Psi (my professional business frat). She’s confident I’ll find work that I’m passionated for after graduation.
3. One of the ladies at the hair/nail salon my mother and I go to asked her ” When is your daughter getting a sex change? ” I confronted her about my femininity (or arguably lack thereof). Note that I haven’t come out to my family yet. My choice in hair style and clothing forms my confidence. I am proud to look at my reflection and walk out of the door to the cold world. I enjoy the fact that womyn and men can wear their clothing like me. I chuckle whenever a man comes up to me and compliments on my hair.
4. I then reassured her that I recognize I am a womyn, and there isn’t anything I’d do to change that fact. I was raised to be a womyn and to take the responsibilities of the eldest daughter in our Vietnamese family.
Things have changed.

Justin Bieber - All That Matters ( Jeftuz Remix)
Disregard the main artist, this track straight up sounds like those 90s R&B tracks you know you dig.
