I realized I’ve been lacking whenever I have the opportunity to describe myself. I either give a vague description that comes off as uninteresting or mysterious, or I give nothing because I want people to learn on their own. I thought these actions were a way for me to come off as humbling but at the same time I wish to be found interesting. Ironically, I wanted people to find me insightful and that I have a worthy perspective to share. But I only wanted the people who were willingly to dig for treasure for I find it hard to be bare and vulnerable.
I wish to distinguish myself because the only justified description is the one I give to myself. Not only do I want to own up to my titles but to further become what I aspire to be. So here is the journey of myself. I am influenced by those who are present in my heart and strangers from all around.
I am Michelle “Melles” Tran and this fall I am a 4th year student at UC Davis. I’m a photographer wishing to capture the world. Andrygnous queer colored womyn hoping to find the balance of myself (whether it be my hair style, my clothes, or my mind) and society ( my family, my friends, my community, my work). I wish to offer my experiences through the confines of this blog and a perspective from which I capture through my camera.
Hello world, Melles here.
